Small Groups

University Temple is FULL of small groups to join!  Whether you’re young, old, sociable, or not so much, there are so many things to do here!  Check out our small groups and find one you’re interested in.

LIFT (Living In Faith Together)

Our Living in Faith Together (LIFT) groups work to understand how God interacts with us on a personal level.  If you experience a spiritual hunger, if you desire to bring a deeper dimension to your faith, then we invite you to join a LIFT group that will provide support for your search, a path to explore prayer, scripture, and the spiritual journey, and an experience of God’s grace and love in daily times of reflection. Each group will go for 8-9 weeks.  Contact Pastor Rich with questions about joining a LIFT group.

BUPH (Building U Temple’s Physical Health)

Our BUPH Group promotes fun, physical activities to encourage physical fitness and to invite friends to share in the fun.  We host a monthly event that focuses on getting us outdoors, getting us moving, and growing together as one big family.  All BUPH events are family-friendly and open to all ages.  A full schedule of events is found here.

Contact Laura Baumgartner to sign up or RSVP.

Campus Ministry

Our Campus Ministry at UW is through the Wesley Club, which is located directly to the South of the Church.  Please visit their website at wesleyuw.org.

Roaring 20’s+

Roaring 20’s+ is a fellowship group open to youngish post undergraduates. We’re just getting off the ground but we’re already excited about an upcoming Bible study we’re calling “Bible and Brew”.  Those interested in getting updates about our group should email Nathan.

United Methodist Women (UMW)

United Methodist Women at U Temple is part of a global body of women who put their hearts and hands together toward creating a supportive fellowship and participating in global and local ministries through the church to improve the lives of women, children and youth.  We have activities throughout the year ranging from Retreats, multiple fundraisers and planning the annual Giving Thanks Banquet for the church.  There are a myriad of ways to get involved including many small groups.  Please contact Janet Lower (jmlower@yahoo.com) or Molly Shaw (mollyshaw54@gmail.com) – we would love to have you join us!

Monday Night Men

Men around the ages of 45-60 gathering together in friendship discussing political, social, and theological issues.  We gather twice a month (1st and 3rd Mondays) at 7:30pm, usually gathering at each other’s homes.  If you’re interested in checking it out, don’t hesitate to email Dale Hoff at dhoffcon@gmail.com.

ROMEOS

ROMEOS (Retired Old Men Eating Out) meets on the 2nd Tuesday each month at 12:30pm, always at Robb’s 125th St. Grill (NE 125th St. and Aurora Ave).  We have but one purpose –  to enjoy a delicious lunch once per month in the company of our fellow retirees.  Birthday celebrants receive complimentary desserts (mudd pie), wear crowns as “Kings for the Day”, and pose for a photo to be included in the U Temple scrapbook.  ROMEOS is a men’s social group with no officers, no formal program or dues — only lunch and camaraderie.  An email reminder is issued each month by founder David Van Zandt and email replies (yea or nay) are encouraged.  Visitors are always welcome.
