Sitting in the heart of the U District, we are proud to house several important social justice and street ministries in the area. If you would like to volunteer with any of these ministries, please contact them directly.
Rising Out of the Shadows (ROOTS) Young Adults Shelter provides a safe overnight shelter for young adults each night. ROOTS provides a safe place to sleep, a dinner and hot breakfast, and clean showers and toilets. www.rootsinfo.org (206) 632-1635.
One of the finest needle distribution programs in the nation, the People’s Harm Reduction Alliance is housed at UTemple and operates four days a week, providing clean needles and needle disposal, Hepatitis C testing, and vein care programs. www.peoplesharmreductionalliance.org (206) 330-5777
