The Community Partnership Team links the congregation to the community through partnering activities in short and long term projects. The Peace Pole at the front of the church and the drinking fountain by the bus stop are two such projects. At present we are partnering with the Food Bank and Sharehouse. The Food Bank supplies staples for needy families. Sharehouse provides furniture and household items to equip families who move off the street into permanent housing.
We are also currently partnered with Roots three mornings a week as people from the church cook breakfast for the Young Adult Shelter. The CP Team organizes the mitten, hat, sock tree during Advent, for the Shelter.
In the Spring, we partner with the Seattle School system through "Common Cents", where funds are collected in the schools for assistance to the homeless. The congregation also partners with the community through the Human Needs Appeal, where funds pledged by the congregation are given to agencies serving the needs in the University District.
